The whole herd of hyenas trembled as they watched male lions kill their own kind

A herd of hyenas had to watch a terrifying scene when their fellow was killed and then spared by the king of the jungle.

This lion has been marked and tracked by scientists. It belongs to the Sankai herd at the Maasai Mara reserve, Kenya.

The young hyena was suddenly attacked by a lion right next to the hyenas’ burrows, so it did not have time to react, and was finally bitten by the male lion and released in front of the whole herd.

Hyenas often dig burrows to create shelter for hyena cubs, many times their nest is discovered by lions and dug to kill cubs.

Perhaps the hyenas will have to change their hiding places if the tragedy is not repeated.
