The lion ambushed a stray zebra, but the predator received a full kick to the throat, causing the lion to freeze and the zebra successfully escaped

A lioness at the Welgevonden reserve had a hunt of a lifetime. Alone it rushes out to attack the zebra when its prey has fallen into an ambush position.

As soon as the zebra hits the zebra from behind, the zebra’s natural reflexes kicks from behind, causing the lioness to receive the full blow of the prey.

This kick caused the lioness to stop and her hunting plan failed immediately. Although this situation is not common, this is not the first time that a lion has been hit by a zebra.

During the recordings of lions hunting, the filmmakers had many times captured the moment when the lion was hit by a dangerous rear kick from this potential prey.
