The sight of a mother buffalo risking her life to fight a herd of hungry lions to protect her cub was captured by tourists at the Timbavati wildlife reserve in South Africa.
Initially, when discovering the mother and the buffalo, a lioness rushed to grab the calves. Seeing that, the mother buffalo immediately turned to attack the predator, butchered the lion and fell upside down on the ground.
Before the fierce attacks of buffalo, this lion was completely inferior and had to run away at times. However, when the other lions jumped in to “help”, the battle changed direction.
Two lions lured the mother buffalo to another place, while the other lion rushed to attack and bite the young buffalo to death. The mother buffalo is also in a dangerous situation when it is attacked by two lions from behind.
After more than 90 minutes of fighting, the fate of the mother buffalo seemed to have been decided when a surprise happened. At this time, the buffalo herd arrived in time and chased away the lions. In the end, the mother buffalo was lucky to escape death and returned safely to the herd.
