Taking the risk of straying alone into the hippo’s territory, the crocodile had to pay a heavy price and suffered a severe beating from the hippo.

The horrifying “water battle” was recorded in Kruger National Park, South Africa. Dozens of hippos came together to surround the crocodile – an illegal intruder into the territory who was preparing to attack the baby hippo.

The lone crocodile was pushed, pushed, and trampled by a herd of hippos, trying to drown him in the water. Several times he weakly rose up, but the crocodile still could not resist the enemy’s strength. Not only was it engulfed in the wrath of the hippos, it also suffered countless powerful bites and was even knocked out of the water.

Alone in the hippo’s territory, the crocodile was lucky to survive and quickly retreated from the unequal battle.

Crocodiles are considered “swamp killers” with their speed and strong jaws that can tear apart the prey they target. However, this killer must be afraid of hippos.

The hippopotamus is the third largest land mammal in terms of mass (about 1.5 – 3 tons), after three species of elephant and white rhinoceros. Although they are herbivores, hippos are one of the most dangerous species in Africa with the most aggressiveness in the world. They are especially aggressive when their territory is violated and their children are touched.

Possessing many terrifying weapons such as wide jaws, thick skin, aggression, courage and extremely strong bite force, hippos can crush crocodiles up to 3 meters long.

Hippos and crocodiles are both animals with very high territorial defense habits. For that reason, many life-or-death battles happened when they were in dispute.
