Giraffe kept sending powerful attacks down the Hyena to protect Giraffe baby

The touching image of motherhood was recorded by Alexandra Olivieri, a guide of Kruger National Park (South Africa). Olivieri said she came across this moving image of a giraffe mother and child while working at the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve (the western edge of Kruger National Park), so she quickly recorded it.

The video captures the scene of a baby giraffe running away from a herd of hyenas in Kruger National Park, South Africa. One of the giraffe’s legs was bitten off by a hyena, causing the poor animal to walk on three legs.

Meanwhile, 2 hyenas aggressively chase their prey running towards the mother giraffe. At the same time, the mother giraffe ran to her side to protect her poor baby.

If a mother giraffe kicks her head, the reckless hyena could lose her life. Therefore, it quickly avoids the mother deer and leaves behind delicious prey. The hyenas slowly walked away and rested in the shade not far away.

However, with the leg being bitten off by the hyena, the future of the young giraffe is quite bleak. It’s only a matter of sooner or later that a pack of hyenas or another group of predators come looking to kill it.
