In a moment of inattention, the mother wildebeest let her young fall into the leopard’s claws. When the predator is trying to finish off the young, the mother wildebeest comes forward and prepares to attack to protect her cubs.
When the leopard left, the mother wildebeest seemed to be mad. It even threw its young into the air, causing it to be more seriously injured. Apparently, it can’t control its behavior.
Apparently facing a predator, this mother wildebeest didn’t know whether to choose to protect her young or her own life and in the end, she left her wounded young there.
The newspaper soon returned and got himself an easy meal. Normally, only 1 out of every 6 wildebeest born is alive after the first year. Photos taken in Kruger National Park, South Africa.
