Hunted by a lion, baby wildebeest escaped with a special weapon

Wildebeest is an animal that can be found almost exclusively in Africa. An adult wildebeest will be about 170 cm – 220 cm long, about 105 – 121 cm tall and weigh about 110 – 180 kg.

Wildebeest often live in large herds, in many cases they even pair with zebra herds to create a strong community, thereby reducing the risk of being hunted by predators.

During the breeding season, each litter of a wildebeest can only give birth to one baby per year, but because the whole herd is often pregnant in close time, when one wildebeest gives birth, the whole herd will give birth.

However, the survival rate of wildebeest is very low. The reason is because wildebeest is an important food source for animals such as lions, leopards, hyenas, crocodiles…

In the video, a mother wildebeest is trapped in the mud. Meanwhile, its young was caught in the sights of bloodthirsty lions. When being chased by the lions, the baby antelope ran away quickly.

Due to the unfavorable terrain, the lioness could not promote her maximum speed, so she gave up. At the top, the lion’s “reinforcement” was ready but could not catch the baby antelope.

As a result, thanks to its remarkable acceleration and legs that can run in swampy land, the young antelope had a spectacular escape from death.
