The prairie lynx is a medium-sized, slender cat with long legs and a rather short tail. The weight of the prairie lynx ranges from 7 to 12 kg for females and 9 to 18 kg for males.

Meanwhile, the African leopard is one of the 5 big cats (including tiger, lion, jaguar, leopard and cheetah). Adult males can reach a weight of 60 to 91 kg, while adult females can reach a weight of 45 to 60 kg.

The moment the African leopard brutally defeated the prairie lynx was captured by Valentin Lavis, a 26-year-old nature photographer, during a trip to the Masai Mara National Nature Reserve in Kenya.

The video shows the moment the African leopard silently approached a prairie lynx, and when the distance was close enough, the African leopard rushed out to grab the prey. Despite having the advantage of speed, when suddenly attacked by an African leopard, the prairie lynx could not react, so it was quickly killed by the predator.

The African leopard bit down on the prairie lynx’s neck and wouldn’t let go. The prairie lynx struggled in pain to find a way to escape the predator, but sadly it finally surrendered to the powerful jaws of the African leopard.
