The mongoose is a carnivore, eating mainly arthropods but also other small mammals, lizards, snakes and eggs of all kinds. They are active mainly during the day, although nocturnal activity has been observed. They live in groups of up to 20 individuals in a permanent underground burrow.
In the video, the mongoose is surrounded by jaguars, but they are not afraid, even reacting so fiercely that the predator has to give up.
