Aghast! Angry Mother Elephant Continuously Tramples Lion Wildly To Avenge Baby Elephant

Exciting moments of wildlife at Chobe National Park in Botswana were captured in full through the lens of a professional photographer.

British photographer James Gifford took a trip to Chobe National Park not long ago. Here, he was fortunate to catch impressive moments of the animal world. James Gifford’s series of photos show a lioness attacking a baby elephant. When it knew that it was not strong enough to knock down its larger-looking prey, it called the whole herd to help.

According to James, at first, the baby elephant appeared to panic. However, with her superior body, the lioness cannot easily attack the opponent. It can only jump on people trying to bite the baby elephant.

However, the opportunity to hunt has passed when the adult elephants come to rescue the young. When the lions saw the appearance of the giant male elephants, they abandoned the attack. They know on their own not to approach the adults, which can cause serious injury to themselves.

“When he saw the herd of elephants, the baby elephant immediately ran to the safe shelter of the whole herd. The lioness knew that their opportunity was over, so they gave up their original attack,” said photographer James.

Chobe National Park is located in the northwest of the Republic of Botswana, near the borders with Zambia, Zimbabwe and Namibia. This park is famous for having the largest concentration of elephants in Africa, about 50,000.

The best time to visit Chobe is during the dry season from April to October, when many animals will congregate in the dry lowlands near the riverbanks, so wildlife viewing will also easier.
