A Buffalo sacrificed himself to block the Lion’s head to let his friends escape

The lion is the most feared predator on the African savannah. With an unlimited menu, they can deal with almost any herbivore.

Lions kill and eat buffalo regularly. In some areas, the African buffalo is the main prey of lions. Usually it takes many lions to work together to knock down an adult buffalo, so lions often go in large herds when hunting them. However, there are cases where a single adult male lion can successfully knock down a large buffalo.

The clip was recorded by a tourist at Ngorongoro conservation area, Tanzania. Discovering a herd of wild buffalo wandering around looking for food, a lioness rushed to chase in the hope of finding herself a delicious meal.

Instead of continuing to follow the herd, one of the five buffaloes decided to turn back and fight the predator.

However, in the confrontation with the lion, the buffalo quickly fell into a weak position. After 30 minutes of struggling, it was killed and eaten by a lion.
