A battle between giraffes and lions in the Pilanesberg Game Reserve in South Africa. In the video, the mother giraffe is unable to protect her cubs from the hungry lions despite her best efforts.

The fight begins with an attack from the lions that break the cub’s leg. A broken leg is a fatal wound for all wildlife.

Even if the young survive the attack, it is still an easy target for other predators.

Lions rarely attack adult giraffes, but their collective strength allows them to successfully chase away the mother and turn the young into a meal.
