Two wildlife-loving tourists captured the extraordinary and harsh scenes of the animal world during a family trip to Siviti, in South Africa’s Thornybush Reserve. .

When they saw lions walking, they decided to follow them. To their general surprise, the cats were chasing a herd of buffalo grazing in the area.

The two male lions joined the lionesses who already had a male cub. At this point, they came dangerously close to a buffalo.

Suddenly the lionesses rushed at the baby buffalo and then a lion cub that was hiding nearby appeared. Feeling threatened, the buffalo herd seemed to come up with a plan to rescue the calf.

As soon as the lion herd unites, the buffalo herd takes control of the situation, actively pursuing the lion herd with the remaining lions right behind. But the mother buffalo refused to see her baby being eaten. She faced the lions without fear, throwing herself into battle. This gives the calf enough time to escape.

Unfortunately, this also puts the mother in the spotlight, tourists told website MostSightings. “I have now discovered a new respect for buffaloes when I see how they protect each other and their young,” he added.
