German wildlife photographer Ingo Gerlach, 63, captured the incredible encounter as the zebra attempted to cross the treacherous river.
Mr. Gerlach decided to capture the action after noticing a large herd of crocodiles gathering near the Mara River in Masai Mara, Kenya, Africa.

After many hours of waiting, by this time about 5 zebras had started to cross the river. They know this place has a lot of crocodiles waiting for prey to pass. but because they had lost their herd, they were determined to cross the river.

Crocodiles have begun to move closer to their prey. At this point one of the zebras had successfully crossed the river.

But the second zebra was unlucky, it did not follow the path of the leader, but very smartly went straight into the middle of the crowd of crocodiles standing there. Of course this zebra cannot escape the sharp teeth of the crocodile.

Since they had caught their prey, they didn’t care about the zebras behind, so they crossed the river easily.
